This celebratory project marked Port Glasgow’s 250th anniversary through a series of joyful and collaborative hands-on workshops with pupils from 11 schools and early learning centres. Responding to the theme Welcome, children explored creative ways to share stories of place and belonging, with their work coming together in a vibrant public exhibition in Port Glasgow. Pre-school participants created collaged portraits of someone important in their community, primary pupils explored meaningful local places through mono-printing, and secondary pupils took a deeper dive - interviewing Port Glasgow locals and translating these conversations into visual interviews.
